Pop up card for christmas swap!

We had to do a christmas swap for the christmas party so this is the card I did as my swap. I seen this fantastic card on Patty's stamping spot. She has a link for a tutorial too on how to make it. Thanks Patty for the inspiration. The only thing I did differently was use acetate because I don't have window sheets here in Australia and the measurements for the acetate pieces I changed completely because my card was a different size. I did my pop up really simple because I had limited time to make it. It is such an easy card to make because I tried to use my punches to create the centrepieces so that I didn't have to cut out too much. You can adapt this card to almost any occasion. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies used in my sample:
Stamps: Spotlight on Christmas, short and sweet, many merry messages, soft holly standard wheel.
Inks: Riding hood red, kiwi kiss, chocolate chip, real red
Papers: Very vanilla, riding hood red, kiwi kiss, chocolate chip, acetate
Accessories: 5– petal flower punch, large star punch, star punch, clear rhinestone brads, sponge daubers, dimensionals, crimper, sticky strip, real red marker.

Secret Santa cards!

One of the things we did for secret santa this year that was different from last year was we could send a card to our secret santa so that they have a chance to guess who we could be before receiving the present on the day. It wasn't a must but I thought it was a great idea and one of the other girls in our team also suggest we send a card to Marelle from all the team and say it was from secret santa so she could get a surprise every day up until the christmas party and she was so shocked with how many arrived in the mail. One of these cards was for my secret santa and one was for Marelle. I had a fab time at the Christmas party last night. It was a beautiful night with so many talented girls there. It was the best night for all. I had so many laughs and this year I knew many of them so it was much nicer to sit and chat with everyone during the night. I will actually take a few photos of my secret santa present as well shortly and a few of the other goodies I received on the night. Of course I forgot my camera on the night but I did take one photo of the table before everyone arrived but the light was going down by that time. I was very spoilt by my secret santa I have to say. She gave me lots and lots of goodies. So tuned for that she did a fab job with wrapping I didn't even want to take all the things out because it just looked so good. I loved it. Anyway thank you secret santa again. Must go thanks for popping by and leaving your lovely comments.

Secret Santa time!

Every year our Stampers Anonomous do a christmas party. Last year I wasn't sure how it all worked so I didn't put as much effort as I did this year. I had so much fun getting this ready for the party. I hope my kk enjoys it. I couldn't post it earlier because the party wasn't until today so I didn't want them to guess who I was in case they check out my blog but I made up my own template of a hexagon box from scratch and I am intending on doing classes for this box next year. So stay tuned for my classes next year. It will be here before you know it. I also did a pull treat and because this person loves white chocolate it is lindt white chocolate and I did a little post it note holder as well that I just decided to do on a whim because I had left over ds paper. I put all these little pressies in a white paper bag and dressed the paper bag with a tag and used the jumbo roller to stamp the bag and now I am finished. The flower on top of the box is actually made out of a few layers of scallops and then a jumbo brad put in the centre of the flower. Anyway this is one of my favourite boxes so far. I am working a few more templates but there are still a few issues with them so I will have to go back to the drawing board for them but I am starting to get more confident in creating boxes especially different sort of boxes. Anyway must go but hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Acetate Slider box again!

I thought I would show you that I finally made some cards that were more chrissy style cards for the acetate slider box. The tutorial for the box can be found at Becky Roberts. I of course put some candy canes in the middle since we don't have nuggets like the US. The 3x3 cards I did using a technique called mosaic tiling. I went to a local craft store and bought some super tape which is the equivalent to sticky strip except in A4 sizes. I cut them into strips of 4cm and used some of my scrap bits of ski slope paper and then used my gold embossing powder to fill in the gaps and then heat and this is what it creates. I don't like to waste any of my designer series paper so this is a great way to use up some of those odd ends to create a beautiful card. I did see this tutorial on Dawn's website but at the time I couldn't find the supertape but now that I have I can do so many more and they are so easy to make. Thanks for stopping by.

Ingredients: stamps: snow swirled, tree trimmings, hostess level 1
Inks: real red, chocolate chip, baja breeze, old olive
Papers: ski slope ds paper, old olive, whisper white, baja breeze
Accessories: pearls, super tape, candy canes, scallop circle punch, 1/3/8" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, oval punch, gold embossing powder, heat gun, dimensionals.

Blog Hop!!!

This is my tote bag to carry my 3x3 cards
This is the tote bag open with all four cards inside

Card 1

Card 2

Card 3

Card 4

This is a pop up card which will give a real wow effect I actually had a dream about making this card.

This is the pop up card open. Wow huh!

If you just come from Nikki's blog now I am next stop on the blog hop. I hope you were inspired by Nikki's beautiful work. Now it is my turn to inspire you all.
Well this is my entry for the blog hop I know it is a long one because I have been working really hard to get these done in time for the event and I really have enjoyed the challenge. It really made me think about new and inventive ideas. I know a few of the stampers anonomous team were not keen on the new stamp set animal stories so please tell me if I have converted you after seeing this project. I adore this set now and I love the new tall tales designer series papers to go with it. Isn't it just beautiful. One of the cards (card 4) from the tote bag set was inspired by another talented stamper Renee from Stamping for Sanity. I used her little tutorial to create a bird's nest out of the small and large oval punch. They suit the birds from animal stories set perfectly don't you think? Thanks Renee for a great tutorial. This was just what I needed for these two birds.

The tote bag was inspired by Lauren Meader. I think hers might be made differently but they look quite similar I made up my own template for it but I had her design in mind when creating my tote bag.

The pop card I made was for my son. I had intended another card for him but he truly loved this card so much that I thought I might just have to give it to him as his birthday card. He just loved those whales. I had dreams about this card I had written it down on a piece of paper so I didn't forget my idea it looks so much better in real life than in my dream. I have lots of dreams about my cards and I always write it down so I can reproduce them later. Some ideas I leave on paper till I can figure out how to perfect them but majority end up a finished product like this pop up card. I think this is one of my favourite cards so far.

Anyway thanks for stopping by I hope you are inspired by some of the new products in the new Summer mini catalogue and are as excited as I am about the new mini launch. Now to see the next stop on the blog hop click here to Sharon's blog where she will have more amazing things to share.

If you have just joined the blog hop tour and you are not sure what a blog hop is all you have to do is follow the links to the next person's blog in total you will see 14 inspiring projects on each stop to give you a sneak peak of the new summer mini products.
